Module 11 · Lesson 1
The Platform at a Glance
"Everything your business runs on — booking, register, payroll, marketing, rewards — one platform, one login, one relationship."
Video narration script (ready to record)
Picture a typical local business. The owner books appointments in one app, rings up sales in another, runs payroll in a third, sends gift cards through a fourth, and texts customers from a fifth. Five logins. Five bills. Zero connection between them.
The Business Lab is one platform that does all of it.
Customers book online or at the front desk, and the calendar, reminders, and check-in all run themselves. Sales go through the point of sale — retail counter, café with a kitchen display, even a self-serve kiosk. Staff punch in and out from their own phones, and payroll runs from those same hours. Every client lives in one database with their visits, forms, balances, and payment history. And the whole thing is wrapped in Boonora — a rewards network that turns every sale into a reason to come back.
One platform. One login. And because every piece shares the same data, things that used to be impossible are automatic: the front desk sees the client's balance while booking them; the timesheet feeds payroll without re-typing; a sale at the register earns rewards the customer can spend at any business in the network.
That's the story. The rest of this training goes system by system.
The capabilities map
| System | What it does | Replaces |
|---|---|---|
| Booking & Front Desk | Online booking page, staff calendar with drag-to-reschedule, smart confirm/reminder texts, waitlist, recurring visits, walk-in check-in kiosk | Square Appointments, Mindbody, Vagaro |
| Point of Sale | Retail + café registers, modifiers, discounts, card terminals, cash handling, kitchen display, receipt/kitchen printers, self-serve kiosk | Square POS, Toast, Clover |
| Online Ordering | Commission-free ordering from the business's own site, straight into the kitchen display, ready-texts to the customer | Grubhub/DoorDash storefronts (and their fees) |
| Payroll & Time | Employee punch app on their own phones (with breaks & messaging), ADP-style timesheets and approvals, pay runs with stubs, direct-deposit bank files, W-2/1099 year-end reports | ADP, Gusto, paper timesheets |
| Clients & Records | One client database across locations: visits, digital intake forms, notes, balances, communication history | Spreadsheets, filing cabinets, practice-management apps |
| Billing & Payments | Invoices and statements, text/email pay links, card on file, front-desk payments tied to the visit | QuickBooks invoicing, paper statements |
| Marketing & Comms | Two-way business texting from a real local number, email, specials, automated thank-yous, referral cashback with QR codes | Podium, Mailchimp, punch cards |
| Boonora Rewards | Coalition rewards network: earn at one business, redeem across the network; digital gift cards; Apple & Google Wallet passes; text-to-check-balance | Nothing — no small-business competitor has this |
| Reporting | Daily sales, appointment analytics, payroll registers, rewards activity — per location and rolled up | Exporting CSVs into spreadsheets |
The one-liner: every app a business owner pays for today is a feature we already include — and none of those apps can offer a shared rewards network.
Talking points
- Lead with consolidationAsk what they pay per month across booking + POS + payroll + marketing apps. The stack usually costs more than we do — before counting the hours lost stitching them together.
- Then differentiate with BoonoraEveryone claims "all-in-one." Nobody else walks in with a rewards network that sends other businesses' customers through their door. That's Lesson 2.
- Proof, not promisesThis platform runs real businesses today — wellness clinics, a café, retail. Demo the live product, never slides.
